Zapata: Class III/IV Zapata is also known by a few other names including: Entrada, Pasarella, Puente Colgante, Palenque, to name a few. Zapata is a very lengthy rapid with crashing waves, holes, and a gradual left hand bend to slightly complicate things. At lower flow Zapata boasts the best surf wave on the entire Futaleufu called El Pistola. This surging goliath can provide the more experienced paddler or playboater a taste of big wave big air action and is in prime location to give spectators a fabulous show. Pistola can be seen from the swinging bridge just upstream and is situated on river right near the top of Zapata.
