Inferno Canyon: Class IV-V+ The start of your Futaleufu paddling experience should never be the Inferno Canyon section, but it does lie at the top of the river... as a grand entrance if you so dare. It's also the way Kayak Futaleufu takes experienced paddlers into our famed Cave Camp... the rest meet the Inferno paddlers at the end of the Inferno run... around lunch. The Inferno Gorge is 5kms in length and contains 4 major rapids ranging in difficulty from class IV-V+. This section of whitewater is the most demanding and committing of the Futaleufu and is not for inexperienced boaters. The Inferno Canyon section is not something you can walk out of and portaging can be impossible. When the water levels are high the Inferno Canyon can be very dangerous. Inferno Canyon is made up the following sections: > The Gates > Entrada > Salida Once out of the canyon its a nice paddle to cave camp through an amazing landscape of rolling hills and a couple of fun class III sections.
